Let's look at a typical business process and how we can automate it

Some basic numbers.

Compound Interest sounds complicated. It's easier to visualise in our Graph below

Let's assume “David” invests £1000 in Year 0 and does not make any further contributions (this is called the principal). This is displayed as the on the chart.
Let's also make an assumption that David invests this in a medium risk fund which achieves a 10% year on year return (similar to the S&P 500).
The next concept we need to understand is that time does the heavy lifting.
If we hover over Year 10 we can see that over the 10 years, this £1000 investment has returned £1707.04 - this is on the chart.
We can then see that the account balance in Year 20 is £7,328.07 . This is calculated as £1000 initial investment + £6,328.07 of compound interest.
Now you understand why they say money makes money.
